SMBSD is seeking Bids from qualified contractors to provide painting services. Pricing shall include all related costs for the delivery, installation (Prevailing Wages), and taxes. Bids must be accompanied by a bidder's bond, cashier's check, or certified check for at least ten percent (10%) of the amount of the base bid and made payable to the Owner. If a bid bond is used, it must be issued by an Admitted Surety (an insurance organization authorized by the Insurance commissioner to transact surety insurance in the State of California during this calendar year), which shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract if awarded the work and will be declared forfeited, paid to, or retained by the Owner as liquidated damages if the bidder refuses or neglects to enter into the contract provided by the Owner after being requested to do so. All questions regarding this solicitation shall be directed through electronically. All Bidders shall be licensed under the provisions of Chapter 9, Division 3 of the Business and Professions Code of the State of California to do the type of work contemplated in the Project. The successful bidder shall possess a valid Contractor's License issued by the Contractor's State License Board at the time the contract is awarded. The class of contractor's license shall be a "C-33" or other CSLB applicable license. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment Bond and Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the total amount of the contract before commencement of work and conforming to the contract documents as well as furnish and maintain proof of Commercial General Liability Insurance, Workers' Compensation Insurance, and all other insurance or certifications as required by the contract documents. An escrow account may be established in lieu of retainage, pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 22300. The Department of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate for holiday and overtime work for the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract. This project is subject to Senate Bill 854. This Project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. In bidding on this project, it shall be the Bidder's sole responsibility to evaluate and include the cost of complying with all labor compliance requirements under this contract and applicable law in its bid. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities or informalities in any bid or in the bidding process. No bidder may withdraw its bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening of bids.
