The City of Newport, Harbors Department is requesting proposals from qualified firms for the expansion of the Ann St. Pier based upon specifications contained herein. General Requirements - Bid Deposit Required - Certified Payroll - Insurance Required - Prevailing Wage Required Bonding Requirements - Bid Bond 5 % - Performance Bond 100 % The right is reserved, as the interest of the City may require, to reject any or all bid proposals, to waive any technical defect or informality in bids received, and to accept or reject any bid or portion thereof. The City of Newport reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or to accept any proposals deemed to be for the best interest of the City. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary to complete the demolition and replacement of the existing Ann Street Pier timber docks, removal and salvaging of existing gangways and other identified structures, removal and disposal of select timber piles, construction of the expansion of the Ann Street Pier (approximately 210 linear feet) including installation of steel pipe piles and concrete floating docks, and to perform the work of these Contract Documents and all included Items including: their associated Specifications and Details under the direction of the City. Construction items descriptions, materials and construction methods are identified within the Contract Documents and the Department of Justice American's with Disabilities Act Standards for Accessible Design, 2010 Edition with all latest revisions. All terms and prices shall remain in effect throughout the term of Agreement. Items of work and approximate quantities included in this contract can be found in the Proposal Pages of this document. The Contractor shall take special care during construction to maintain and keep the associated and adjacent roadways passable at the end of each day during construction and at all times for emergency vehicles. All driveways must be accessible at the end of each day. Traffic shall be adequately controlled by the Contractor; however, as requested by the Contractor, the City Engineer shall approve in writing the need and schedule for all police details throughout the project. Police details shall be paid for by the City. Traffic control devices shall be provided by the Contractor as required and will not be paid for separately.
