The scope of work involves the furnishing of all labor, equipment, and materials for the construction of improvements generally described as follows: approximately 299.5 linear feet of PCC Curb and Gutter, 809 square yards of 8-inch Reinforced PCC Pavement, 9,040 square yards of 7-inch Reinforced PCC Full Depth Patching, 759 square yards of 8-inch Reinforced PCC Full Depth Patching, Intake Adjustments, Pavement Markings, Traffic Control, and other miscellaneous work at various locations throughout the City of West Des Moines, Iowa. All bids must be made on the form provided by the City through wdm.ionwave.net and filed before the specified deadline. Each proposal must be electronically accompanied by a scanned copy of the bid bond or a cashier's or certified check from an Iowa or federally chartered bank in an amount equal to 10% of the total bid. If a bid bond is used, it must be on the form provided with the contract documents. The apparent low bidder is required to submit a physical copy of the bid security to the City Clerk's Office within 48 hours of the bid deadline. Failure to submit a fully completed Bidder Status Form may result in the bid being deemed nonresponsive and rejected. The successful bidder must furnish a performance and payment bond for 100% of the contract price and provide a four-year maintenance guarantee. Work must commence within ten days of notice to proceed and be completed by the established completion date. Liquidated damages will be assessed for late completion. Preference will be given to Iowa products, provisions, and labor in accordance with state law. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive technicalities or irregularities.
