Reference Number 0000412360 The City of Delta is seeking proposals from qualified and experienced contractors to replace an existing segment of Transite asbestos-cement (AC) water line along Eaton Avenue in Delta, Colorado, with 8-inch C900 PVC DR-18 water main. The selected contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, traffic control (alternate bid item), and incidentals necessary to complete the project in accordance with the City of Delta Specifications and Standards, applicable CDOT requirements, and all governing federal, state, and local regulations. Refer to the addendum in the construction contract for information on the remediation of asbestos on the subject property. Project Description and Limits The project consists of the excavation, installation, testing, and commissioning of approximately 1,000 linear feet of 8-inch C900 PVC DR-18 water line along Eaton Avenue, extending from Main Street west to Do-dge Street. The City of Delta is accepting sealed bids from a qualified contractor to replace approximately 1000' of failing 8" water line. Water Main Installation and Valve Work Work shall include, but is not limited to, the following elements: o Tie-in to the existing 8-inch PVC water line on Main Street at the east end of the project, including installation of a three-way valve pack with three 8-inch valves (Reference #1). o Installation of 8-inch C900 PVC DR-18 water main proceeding west along Eaton Avenue to the Palmer Street intersection. o Installation of a four-way 8-inch x 6-inch valve pack at the intersection of Eaton Avenue and Palmer Street (Reference #2). o Continuation of the 8-inch C900 PVC water main west to the intersection of West 8th Street and Street, including installation of a four-way 8-inch valve pack with a 40- foot, 8-inch stub-out to the west (Reference #6). o Tie-in of existing Transite AC water lines on two sides of the Street intersection. o Disconnection of old line and reconfiguration of existing valve infrastructure, including: o Installation of a three-way valve pack on Main Street (Reference #8). o Reference #9 - removal of an existing valve pack and splicing of the north-south Palmer Street water line into the new valve pack at Reference #2. o Removal of an existing four-way valve pack and replacement with a three-way valve pack at the south side of the Street and Eaton Avenue intersection, including installation of an 8-inch tee and three 8-inch valves (Reference #10). Water Service Connections o Connection of three existing water service lines between Main Street and Palmer Street (References #3, #4, and #5). o Connection of one existing water service line west of Palmer Street (Reference #7). o The City will provide water service line parts after the corp stop with the contractor installing all parts and materials needed to reach the meter pit. The contractor will also provide excavation for the service lines from the newly installed 8" to and including the meter pit.
