Base Bid: Hunt Street Tunnel Lid at Station 8+50. The work of this project is to carefully remove and dispose of approximately 20 LF of 8' wide by 12" thick reinforced concrete steam tunnel lid on Hunt Street next to Colson Hall and replace it with a new reinforced concrete lid per the attached documents prepared by Alpha Associates. The work includes all necessary excavation, backfill, and asphalt paving repairs. The access hatch and its extension ring are to be salvaged and re-used. The tunnel lid lies approx. 1 to 2 feet below the surface of the asphalt paving. All doors to Colson Hall must remain accessible to pedestrians during construction. The work in this area involves the removal and replacement of approximately 400 SF of 12" thick reinforced concrete tunnel lid and approximately 40 LF of 8' tall reinforced concrete tunnel wall between stations 11+29 and 11+69 bordering on Prospect Street. It also involves approximately 288 SF of tunnel wall Dowel Detail Spall Repair per Detail 5/S200, between stations 10+78 and 11+14.
