This project consists of painting centerline stripes, stop bars, crosswalks, words and symbols on selected streets in the City of Platteville. This is a re-paint of existing lines. It is envisioned that due to budget, the City of Platteville will likely award the Base Bid and Alternate A OR Base Bid and Alternates B and C. MATERIALS A. Paint used shall be Epoxy, applied at 15mil thickness with glass beads applied at the rate of 25 lbs per gal of paint. B. Any oil or water base paint residue, whether stripes or symbols, that will restrict or limit the adhesiveness of the Epoxy paint shall be removed, either by sand blasting, grinding or any other method that is first approved by the City of Platteville. C. All crosswalks, turn arrows, stop blocks, words or symbols shall be repainted using the Epoxy paint. Contract 8-26: Highway Painting. Sealed bids are to be addressed to the Director of Public Works, Municipal Building, 75 North Bonson Street, Platteville, WI 53818, with the name and address of the bidder, contract number, and title of work clearly indicated on the envelope. Contract documents, plans, and specifications are available for examination and may be obtained after February 10, 2026, from the Office of Director of Public Works, City of Platteville, with a non-refundable shipping deposit required. Sealed bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond payable to the City of Platteville, Wisconsin in the amount of not less than five percent of the total bid as a guarantee that, if accepted, the bidder will execute and file proper contract documents, performance bond, and insurance within ten days after award. All bids must be submitted on the proposal forms furnished by the City. Any alteration or extension of the form, or the inclusion of unsolicited information, may result in the bid being declared informal and rejected. No bid may be withdrawn for thirty days after the opening. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities in bidding, or accept the bid deemed most advantageous to the City.
