This project includes the replacement of approximately 1,000 LF of 6", 8", and 10" water main with like size PVC water main via trenching and trenchless methods. Work includes installation of new water main fittings, water services, valve vaults, valve boxes, and fire hydrants; abandonment of existing water main and valve vaults; removal of existing valves, water services, and fire hydrants; Class D pavement patching; removal and replacement of sidewalk and curb and gutter as directed by the engineer; full-width HMA milling; HMA binder and surface course; erosion and sediment controls; sod placement; and other associated work to complete the project. Bids must be submitted electronically via QuestCDN. Bidders must be Plan Holders of record at the Issuing Office. Bid Security in the amount of not less than ten (10) percent of the Bid shall accompany each Bid in the form of an electronic bid bond. The awarded Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond for 100 percent of the Contract Price. The City reserves the right to reject any and all Bids or award each schedule individually, to waive informalities or technicalities, and to accept the bid that best serves the City's interests. Contractors must pay not less than prevailing wage rates as established by the Illinois Department of Labor for Lake County, Illinois.
