Site work for a communication facility in Barksdale AFB, Louisiana. Completed plans call for site work for a communications tower.
Contractor to furnish, install, and test a new Corning 12-strand single-mode OSP dielectric fiber optic cable from Building 3458 Core Node to Building 6413 49 Test facility. Scope includes providing all materials, labor, supplies, and equipment necessary for the installation of a 12-strand single dielectric cable as specified. All parts and pieces to be used must be submitted to 2d Communications Squadron for approval prior to ordering. The contractor is responsible for all equipment, tools, materials, supplies, transportation, labor, supervision, management, and other incidentals necessary to meet the requirements as outlined in the Statement of Work. All equipment, supplies, and materials provided must be new and not refurbished and meet the stated requirements. Bldg 3458 a. Pull fiber from vault to Room 222 using existing vertical pathway. 2 CS will show the contractor the exact path at the time of installation. b. Install splice cassette in existing FODP and fusion splice new FOC to splice cassette in Room 222. c. No maintenance loop will be left inside Bldg 3458. Bldg 6413 a. Route fiber from incoming conduit to existing 2-post rack. b. Install (1) corning CCH-04U in 2-post rack. Terminate FOC in CCH using an LC pigtailed shuttered splice cassette. Corning CCH-CS12-AE-P00RE. Underground Handholes, Conduit Systems and Innerducts Installation Installation path and associated requirements are as follows: a. Bldg 3458 to MH49-2 i. Distance is approximately 130' from Fiber Rack in Room 222 to MH49-2. ii. Use existing horizontal and vertical pathway from Room 222 to 3458 vault. iii. Use vacant MaxCell fabric innerduct from 3458 vault to MH49-2. iv. Leave 50' maintenance loop in MH49-2. b. MH49-2 to MH49 i. Distance is approximately 200'. ii. Use vacant MaxCell fabric innerduct. c. MH49 to MH51 i. Distance is approximately 280'. ii. Use vacant innerduct. iii. Leave 50' maintenance loop in MH51. d. MH51 to MH54 i. Distance is approximately 302'. ii. Install (3) 3" 3-Cell MaxCell Fabric Innerducts 1. The maxcell does not need to be detectable 2. Use one of the MaxCell sleeves after installation e. MH54 to MH122 i. Distance is approximately 471'. ii. Use vacant MaxCell innerduct i. Leave 50' maintenance loop in MH122. f. MH122 to 6413 up to 2nd Floor Comm Rm i. Distance is approximately 140'. ii. Use vacant innerduct between MH122 and 4"LB on south wall of facility. iii. Enter facility through 4" LB nipple into facility. From inside facility route inside chase between inner and out wall up to 2nd floor communications room. iv. Support cable with J-Hooks for the vertical transition between the cable entrance until it enters the 2nd floor communications room.
