Designing and installing a new playground at Buechler Park, located at 100 East First Street, Grand Island, NE. arget Demographics: The play area should cater to two age groups: ages 2-5 (35%) and ages 5-12 (65%). o Preferred Elements: o Decks and platforms of various heights. o Turf safety surfacing and numerous inclusive play features. o Stand-alone features like group or partner spinners/whirl or "play pockets." o Parent-baby combo features. o Excluded Elements: Metal slides and wooden features are strictly not desired. o Regulatory Compliance: All equipment must be compliant with applicable regulations, guidelines including but not limited to ADA, ASTM, and CPSC standards, with rust-resistant (preferably stainless steel) hardware. Contractor Responsibilities o Logistics: Supply all material, labor, and equipment; obtain all site measurements; and coordinate delivery with at least 48 hours' notice if sent to the City Park Maintenance Shop. o Site Management: Minimize Park disruption (backfill any trenches/ruts) and maintain a minimum 4-foot-high safety fence around the construction zone. Proper disposal of litter and debris collected from the work site is this the responsibility of the Contractor. o Utilities: Contact Digger's Hotline for utility locates before starting work. Security & Finalization: Protect uncured surfacing/concrete and replace any vandalized items prior to job completion. o Deliverables: Provide an onsite audit report confirming installation to manufacturer specs and supply all maintenance manuals to the City upon completion. Proposals shall include the following: 1. Company Profile & Qualifications o Brief overview of company history and qualifications. o Years of specific experience in playground construction. o Available support services and maintenance capabilities. o Project Manager resume or summary of relevant experience. 2. Sub-Contractor Details o Legal name and professional experience for all sub-contractors providing installation services. 3. Joint Venture Details (if applicable) o Defined roles for each party and the estimated percentage of the total project scope to be performed by each. 4. Design Components o Comprehensive list or reference index of all planned equipment and design features. 5. Technical Specifications & Accessibility o Detailed description of component materials and manufacturing standards. o A summary of ADA accessibility and inclusive design compliance. 6. Project Schedule o Proposed construction start and end dates. o A firm anticipated completion date. 7. Financial Proposal o A single total project cost accompanied by a detailed itemized breakdown of all charges (materials, labor, shipping, etc.). 8. Site Plan & Visuals o An 11 x 17 site plan showing the entire design with dimensions. o High-resolution color renderings of the proposed design. 9. Warranty & Insurance o A copy of the manufacturer's product warranty. o Proof of liability insurance and coverage limits
