Renovation of a fire / police facility in Springfield, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.

The City through its Department of Capital Assets and Construction is seeking bids from qualified firms to enter into an agreement for the complete replacement of the membrane roofing and shingle roof at Raymond M. Sullivan Public Safety Complex. Estimated cost of the project is $500,000.00. All Bidders will be required to pay Prevailing Wages whenever applicable. Bids must be prepared and submitted electronically at www.biddocsonline.com. Bidding procedures follow Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149 as amended and other applicable statutes. The Prime/General Contractor must be certified by the State Division of Capital Asset Management in the category, General Contractor or Roofing. Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend a site visit at 1212 Carew St, Springfield, MA 01104. This meeting will provide an opportunity for interested parties to inspect the site and all particulars and resolve questions regarding the scope of work, existing conditions and the specifications. Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available at www.biddocs.com (may be viewed electronically and downloaded at no cost) or hard copies may be purchased at Nashoba Blue, Inc. Questions must be submitted in writing to the Architect. The City of Springfield goal of twenty percent (20%) MWBE participation applies. Massachusetts DLS Prevailing Wage rates may apply. The Chief Procurement Officer/Designee reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids, if in the public interest to do so. The scope of work, without limiting the generality thereof, includes all labor, materials, equipment and services required to perform the work described fully in the Drawings and Specifications and includes, but is not limited to the following major work: 1.Removal of the existing asphalt shingle roof, membrane roofing, flashing, gutters and downspouts. 2.Installation of new asphalt shingle roofing, membrane roofing, flashing, gutters and downspouts.
