Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Weston, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; for the construction of a 44,000-square-foot fitness / recreation center; and fitness / recreation center.
The City of Weston intends to construct a new recreation building of approximately 44,000 gross square feet at the proposed location. The building is proposed to have the capacity to house a multipurpose gymnasium area for indoor sports and other uses, a walking/running track above the gymnasium area, multipurpose rooms, event rooms, bathrooms, storage, electrical and HVAC rooms, emergency standby power, loading areas and other support spaces. The building is proposed to be used as a reunification center in times of crisis and certain emergencies. The exterior program for the site shall include all required parking and landscaping, demolition of an existing playground, construction of a new shaded playground, splashpad, multipurpose courts with a covered steel structure, picnic pavilion, a new exit/access drive to Vista Park Boulevard, and the conversion of two existing natural grass soccer fields to artificial turf fields. The CITY is requesting proposals from certified general contractors licensed by the State of Florida to pre-qualify for the purposes of bidding on the construction of Vista Park Project Phase II to be built on a vacant parcel of approximately 6 acres located at 18800 Vista Park Boulevard Weston, FL 33332. Construction is expected to begin in Fall of 2026. Question Deadline 03/03/2026 at 4:00 PM ET Any questions concerning this solicitation shall be submitted in writing to the Director of Procurement, Martha Perez-Garviso at mperezgarviso@westonfl.org, with "RFQ No. 2026-05, Pre-Qualification of General Contractors for the Construction of Vista Park Phase II", in the subject line at least five business days prior to the submittal deadline. Online Bid opening: The sealed proposals will be publicly opened at the City of Weston, City Hall after the Proposal Submittal Deadline. Award of a proposal will be made at a City Commission meeting. The public opening of submittals may be viewed by the public via Cisco Webex Note: All Prospective Bidders/respondents Are Hereby Cautioned Not to Contact Any Member of the City of Westonstaff or Officials Other Than the Specified Contact Person. M/WBE's are encouraged to participate in the bid process. The CITY (through the City Commission, City Manager, Selection Committee or Protest Committee) reserves the right to: A. Reject any or all proposals; B. Waive any informality in a proposal; C. Waive any deficiency or irregularity in the selection process; D. Accept or reject any or all qualifications statements in part or in whole; and E. Request additional information as appropriate. The City Commission reserves the right to: A. Award all or a portion of the services set forth in the RFP/RFQ as determined to be in the best interest of the CITY; and B. Reject any or all Proposals if found by the City Commission not to be in the best interest of the CITY. C. In the event of a sole proposal, reject the sole proposal.
