Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Ames, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot.
Sealed bids are requested for the 2025/26 Alley Pavement Improvement Program. The general nature of the work includes: 673.2 SY of pavement removal, 685.6 SY of 7” PCC pavement, 300 LF of footing drain collector PVC 6”, 842.4 SY of subgrade preparation 12” depth, 842.4 SY of special backfill 6” depth, and miscellaneous related work and appurtenances in accordance with the contract documents. Bids must be submitted using the Proposal Form provided, in a sealed and plainly marked envelope. Each bid must include bid security as defined in Code of Iowa Section 26.8 and specified in the Instructions to Bidders. The successful bidder must furnish a corporate surety bond equal to 100% of the contract price. Work must commence as soon as possible after award and approval of the contract and performance bond and be completed no later than the designated contract completion date. The contractor shall not include sales or use taxes in the bid. All bidding documents must be obtained from the City of Ames Public Works Department. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities, and enter into contracts as deemed in its best interest. Preference will be given to Iowa-grown products, coal produced within Iowa, and Iowa labor, to the extent lawfully required under Iowa statutes. Minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability.
