The responsibilities include mowing all areas weekly or as needed with grass to be picked up, not mulched; edging and trimming around grave markers, buildings, trees, and fences weekly or as needed; removal of grass clippings, tree branches, and other items from grave markers and cemetery area; picking up all loose trash prior to mowing and placing it in a barrel or dumpster; performing work to the satisfaction of the Cemetery Board; and raising and lowering flags as necessary. The contractor will provide all necessary equipment, liability and workmen’s compensation insurance, and other necessary items to perform the functions of mowing the cemetery. The contractor must provide an equipment list and attend the cemetery board meeting to answer questions. Sealed bids must be properly marked and submitted to City Hall by the specified deadline. Bids will be opened and accepted at the Cemetery Board meeting. The mowing season is from May 1st to October 31st of each year.
