Contract 1 - General Construction Contract consists of the construction of a new potable water pressure boosting pump station for the Elmira Water Board, including site development, underground utilities, and associated mechanical, electrical, and structural systems. Work includes site preparation and excavation, installation of new potable water mains, valves, and appurtenances, construction of a single-story pump station building (small utility structure, approximately 1,000-1,500 square feet based on plan footprint), installation of booster pumps and interior piping, electrical service and controls, HVAC and ventilation, and full site restoration. The Project includes the following Work: Water System Improvements consisting of the installation of a pump station, installation of new water main and appurtenances. The pump station project shall consist of the installation of a new cement masonry unit building, two (2) domestic service pumps, two (2) fire pumps, hydropneumatics tanks along with all necessary interior plumbing, electrical and mechanical appurtenances such as piping, valving, lighting, heating, pump controls (VFD), manual transfer switch and exterior work including driveway improvements watermain connections, and other building services. The watermain improvements shall include new watermain along West Hill Road along with new watermain connections within the intersection of Hillcrest and Hoffman Street All watermain work shall include all excavation, thrust restraint, valves, hydrants, cut/cap, backfill, restoration, installation all necessary fittings, valves and appurtenances along with appropriate coordination and maintenance & Protection of traffic.
