Site work for a water / sewer project in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
PROPOSED WORK: The applicant requests authorization to construct a new dock. Specifically, they propose to construct a 6' x 50' fixed pier leading to a 4' x 30' gangway that will connect to a 5' x 80' floating spine dock with four 3' x 25' floating finger docks. In addition, they propose to install a 65' sheetpile bulkhead adjacent to and a 50' long pipe with a 36" diameter under the existing boat ramps. WATERWAY AND LOCATION: The project would affect waters of the United States and navigable waters of the United States associated with the Wando River. The project/review area is located on the Wando River at 2386 Highway 41 in Mount Pleasant; at Latitude 32.922150 and Longitude -79.826720; in Charleston, Berkeley County, South Carolina. EXISTING CONDITIONS: The project area is located within an existing commercial marina facility that consists of concrete boat ramps, a dry stack drop pier, and floating docks. The Charleston District will receive written comments on the proposed work, as outlined above, until February 27, 2026. Comments should be submitted electronically via the Regulatory Request System (RRS) online or to Brittany Pittman at brittany.f.pittman@usace.army.mil. Alternatively, you may submit comments in writing to the Commander, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Charleston District, Attention: Brittany Pittman, 69A Hagood Avenue Charleston, SC 29403-5107. Please refer to the permit application number in your comments.
