Sealed bids will be received for the New Pole Barn Addition at the Marian Emmons McKeown Elementary School, 1 School Road, Newton, New Jersey, together with all work incidental thereto, in accordance with the requirements of the drawings and specifications prepared by Gianforcaro Architects & Engineers. Bids are to be submitted for a single overall contract and all incidental work. Bidders, and all general construction contractors and subcontractors for bids exceeding $20,000, must be prequalified by the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction, and possess a valid Notice of Classification in either C008: General Construction or C009: General Construction/Alterations and Additions. Bids must be submitted on the Proposal Forms, enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the Bidder and Proposal Identification Number, and must be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Bid Bond for not less than 10% of the amount of the Bid (not to exceed $20,000). A Certificate of Consent of Surety must also be submitted, stating that a Performance/Payment Bond will be provided if successful. If surety is not provided for subcontractors, then subcontractors must provide their own proof of surety with their bid. No bid may be withdrawn for sixty days after the opening. Contracts will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. Bidding shall conform to all applicable Federal, State, and Municipal laws, including affirmative action and contractor registration requirements. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive informality if in its interest. No bid will be accepted that does not conform to the specifications furnished.
