Iowa State University is soliciting quotations to remove asbestos containing materials in Wallace Hall. Contractors should read all materials and review all dates carefully. All questions should be submitted in the online bidding system under the questions tab. Question Deadline 03/12/2026 at 2:00 PM CT Pre bid meeting notes: No verbal statements by ISU or its representatives at this meeting will be binding. ISU will post all changes and material clarifications in the form of an addenda after the meeting. Failure to attend or have representation at the meeting will result in the Contractor or individual being ineligible to participate in this competitive process. The Contractor will supply all labor, materials, equipment, services, and insurance necessary for the abatement of asbestos containing materials while conducting "Time and Materials" projects. The Contractor will be responsible for filing required State and Federal notices as required for individual projects. The Contractor will also be responsible for the legal transport of waste to the ISU asbestos dumpster, the Ames/Story County Landfill, or other location as specified by the Owner's Representative. The Contractor will consult initial exposure assessments (IEA), supplied specification and drawings to determine the scope of individual projects. All abatement projects will begin at 8:00 a.m. unless otherwise agreed upon. Owner requires the Contractor to supply estimates of job costs preceding the start of the work for budgetary purposes. Site visits are required prior to submitting estimates of job cost. The Contractor will receive the agreed upon hourly fee in exchange for each hour of time the Contractor's employee works on the ISU job site. Time expended by the Contractor to collect materials or coordinate workers in preparation to work on-site will not be considered billable and will be refused by the Owner's Representative. Time sheets not signed within a week from the date of service will not be considered billable and will be refused by the Owner's Representative.
