The project includes removal and replacement of the existing Chiller #2. The work also includes installation of new piping to serve the new Chiller #2 and reconfiguration of the piping associated with the new Chiller #2 and the existing (to remain) Chiller #1. All bidders are advised they must be able to submit, if requested by the Owner, a Pre-Qualification Statement for this project prior to opening of the bids. The Pre-Qualification Statement shall at a minimum list three past projects of similar size/scope along with references. All bids shall consist of two completed copies of bid documents and shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee consisting of a Bid Bond, Certified Check, or Bank Draft made payable to Board of Education Farmington Central CUSD #265, in an amount equal to and not less than five percent of total of bids upon which Contractor is bidding. Failure of bidder to submit Bid Bond, Certified Check, or Bank Draft in amount to cover proposal being bid upon is cause for rejection of this bid. Commencement of the work may begin pending the contractor's submittal of an executed contract along with the submittal of the required insurance certificate(s), bond(s), and any other miscellaneous documents. All work shall be substantially completed on or before the specified date. The Owner reserves the right to waive any irregularities and to accept any or reject all bids when in the opinion of the Owner, such action will serve the best interest of the Owner. Bids on all work of this contract shall be subject to the provisions of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act.
