The Manitowoc County Highway Department is accepting sealed bids for furnishing "Hot Mix Asphalt" and "Asphalt Milling" services. The projects include CTH "XX" (LRIP project 13515) and various highway projects within Manitowoc County. Hot Mix Asphalt is to be bid per Ton unit price, and submissions from multiple plants are encouraged if the bidder has more than one available. An approved mix design from each plant is required. Asphalt Milling is to be bid per Square Yard unit price, with separate mobilization charges per each time. Estimates for mix production are provided: 4 LT 58-28 S (5294 Tons), 4 MT 58-28 S (32608 Tons), asphalt milling at an average 2" depth (114,150 Square Yards), and mobilization based on 5 moves. All mix design and asphaltic milling must comply with the latest State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Highway and Structure Construction and applicable supplemental specifications. Bids must be clearly marked and separately enveloped according to the service being bid. A certified check or satisfactory bid bond, payable to Manitowoc County, for not less than five percent of the bid must accompany each bid. If accepted, the bidder must execute and file the Contract, Performance Bond, and Insurance Certificate as required within ten days of the Notice of Award. Manitowoc County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive any informalities or irregularities, or accept the bid(s) deemed to serve the County's best interest. No bid may be withdrawn for thirty days after the opening without consent of the County. Responsive and responsible low bidders will be notified of intent to award within ten working days, and must submit contract documents for signature within five working days of notification.
