Site work and new construction of a power facility in Naperville, Illinois. Working plans call for the construction of a power facility; and for site work for a power facility.
Bid is Cancelled. Contractor shall furnish and install all materials, labor, construction equipment, and supervision required to construct one (1) 34.5kV Switchgear building weather-tight, with all associated foundation, doors, roofing, lighting, receptacles, HVAC, drainage piping, building grounding, etc., in accordance with this specification, the attached drawings and Purchaser's schedule including all testing of the building lighting, receptacle and HVAC systems installed by Contractor as required to turn over to the Purchaser as "ready for occupancy" so that Purchaser may proceed with Purchaser's installation of the 34.kV switchgear and other associated equipment. City of Naperville is modifying their existing Tollway Substation to include the installation of a new masonry building that will house new 34.5kV indoor switchgear and associated control equipment. This building has been designed by others and the specification and drawings will be attached to this bid. This bid is being issued to procure the supply and construction of the new 34.5kV switchgear control building. The City's Tollway substation has seen several 34.5kV bus flashovers on both buses over the last couple of years. The primary cause of these failures was determined to be the amount of salt spray contamination, from the adjacent tollway, that forms on the bus insulators. Regular cleaning has proven ineffective and requires labor intensive periodic maintenance. As such, the Utility is looking to move its 34.5kV switchgear indoor into a new switchgear building which will be constructed as part of this bid.
