The Bessemer Downtown Development Authority is seeking sealed bids for the installation of a pickleball court surface for new court construction. The bidder must follow the rules and regulations of the City of Bessemer and Downtown Development Authority, maintain current licensure and general liability insurance, and show technical capability to meet USA Pickleball standards. Bidders must submit at least two references from previous pickleball or tennis court surface projects and provide a timeline for the scheduled work. The project will commence after the completion of a new 5” thick, 4,000 PSI reinforced concrete pad (total area 64’x70’ for side-by-side courts), which will be installed by another contractor. Bidders are to provide bid specifications for all available surface options (acrylic or rubberized) and recommendations for the local area. The project location is on the corner of Sellar Street and Sophie Street. This is a lump sum, not-to-exceed bid, and the DDA reserves rights regarding bid item deletions and bid acceptance or rejection depending on budget and timing constraints. Sealed bids must be submitted by the stated deadline, with required documentation included and clearly labeled as directed.
