Site work for a residential development in Newton, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a residential development.
Construction of residential street, curb and gutter, sidewalks, and utilities within Arbor Estates Third Addition. Sealed proposals must be filed before 10:00 A.M on March 24, 2026, in the office of the Public Works Director, 303 W. 4th Street N, Suite 501, Newton, Iowa 50208. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security in an amount equal to 5 percent of the total amount of the bid. The bid shall contain no condition except as provided in the specifications. If the bidder fails to execute the contract and furnish an acceptable Performance, Payment, and Maintenance Bond or provide a Certificate of Insurance within ten days after acceptance of the bid by the City, the bid security may be forfeited or cashed by the City as liquidated damages. The contractor and subcontractors shall use sales tax exemption certificates issued for this project. Preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa, as lawfully required under Iowa statutes.
