Site work for a water / sewer project in Brockton, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The work includes new 20-inch water mains and appurtenances to replace existing water mains within Montello Street between Lawerence Street and Crescent Street. It involves furnishing and installing new water service connections, fittings, valves, hydrants, connections to the existing water system, temporary water, all earthwork, dewatering and drainage, pavement replacement, wheelchair ramps, restoration, utility crossing, traffic management, miscellaneous work and cleanup, and all work required in the Contract Documents. All bids shall be submitted online at www.Projectdog.com. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of five percent of the bid. The successful bidder is required to furnish a 100 percent Performance Bond and a 100 percent Payment Bond with a surety company acceptable to the Owner. Complete instructions for filing bids are included in the Instructions to Bidders. The contract time shall be 150 calendar days, excluding final paving, commencing twenty days following the effective date of the agreement. Winter shutdown will be enforced between Thanksgiving and March 31. The owner reserves the right to waive any informality in or reject any or all bids if deemed to be in its best interest. Wage rates are subject to minimums as required by law, and award of contract is contingent on the city's needs, appropriation, and availability of funds.
