Replace EPDM roof and transition to dome roof. Bids will be based on a single lump sum general construction contract. Bids shall include not less than the prevailing hourly wage rate determined by the Illinois Department of Labor. Bid Security is required in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the proposal, made payable unconditionally to the Owner. Security shall be a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond issued by a surety licensed to conduct business in the State of Illinois. Within ten (10) days after notification of award of contract, the successful Contractor shall furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond in the amount of 100 percent of the contract and the payment of all obligations arising thereunder using a form similar to the AIA(R) 312(TM) Form, or one acceptable to the Owner. The Performance Bond will become a part of the Contract. If the successful bidder fails to enter into contract and supply the required bond and Certificates of Insurance within ten (10) days after the prescribed forms are presented for signature, or within such extended period as the Owner may grant, it shall constitute a default. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities and irregularities in any bid, or to make awards in the best interests of the Owner. General: Work of this Contract includes coordination of entire work of project, including preparation of general coordination drawings/diagrams/schedules, and control of site utilization; from beginning of activity, through project closeout and warranty periods.
