Reference Number 0000413782 The City of Gunnison is undertaking Project 1A - Raw Water Intake Structure, a critical component of the City's multi-phase Water Treatment Plant (WTP) program. This project includes construction of a new raw water intake structure within or immediately adjacent to the Gunnison River, an active river channel. The intake structure is necessary to reliably convey raw water to the City's future WTP. This Qualification Form is issued as a precursor screening tool for Project 1A - Raw Water Intake Structure. Its sole purpose is to pre-qualify contractors with demonstrated experience in in-river construction, environmental compliance, and temporary water control systems appropriate for this project. This is not a Request for Proposals (RFP) and does not constitute a solicitation for pricing or design services. The work will require construction activities within an active, cold-water, high-elevation river system subject to seasonal runoff, variable flows, and environmental permitting constraints. Construction will involve temporary water control measures, in-river excavation, dewatering controls, environmental protection measures, and post-construction channel restoration. Due to the complexity, regulatory oversight, and risk profile of in-river work, the City is emphasizing contractor experience, safety, and demonstrated regulatory compliance as critical success factors.
