Site work and new construction of a transportation facility in Manteo, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the construction of a 3,900-square-foot transportation facility; and 5,400-square-foot, three-room transportation facility.

The project consists of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment and performing all work required to satisfactorily complete the Hangars and Taxilanes project. Items of work include erosion control, pavement removal, earthwork, drainage, bituminous pavement construction, concrete pavement construction, and construction of a new box hangar (approximately 60' x 65' - Schedule I North Site) and a new 3-unit hangar (approximately 45'x40' each unit - Schedule II South Site). Instructions to bidders include: Bidders must submit sealed bids accompanied by a Bid Bond, a deposit of cash or by a certified check payable to Dare County Airport Authority for an amount equal to 5% of the total base bid. Each bidder must be registered as a prequalified bidder with the NCDOT at the time of bid opening. All subcontractors should be registered as pre-qualified subcontractors with the NCDOT at the beginning of the project. The proposed contract is subject to the Federal Contract Provision Requirements. Prospective bidders should carefully read the instructions for preparing bids in Section 20 of the project specifications before submitting their bids. Envelopes containing proposals must be sealed, addressed to Stacy Ambrose, Airport Director, Dare County Regional Airport, and marked on the envelope as specified. The Owner encourages participation by all firms qualifying under this solicitation regardless of business size or ownership. Federal Contract Provisions are included, and the contract award is contingent upon the availability of Federal, State, and Local funds.
