The City of Richmond, Virginia, on behalf of the Department of Public Utilities, seeks bids from qualified firms for general construction services related to the demolition of certain buildings. The work includes demolishing existing structures such as buildings, pavement, electrical lines, tree removal, and performing site restoration measures. This project aims to remove obsolete and deteriorated structures to prepare Mayo Island for future redevelopment as public green park space, supporting recreation, ecological restoration, and public use. Details regarding the work are described in the Statement of Work. Question Deadline 03/05/2026 at 5:00 PM ET If any person contemplating submitting a bid for the proposed Work is in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of the proposed Contract Documents or discrepancies of any sort between existing conditions and proposed new Work, he must submit a written request for an interpretation through Online. A. General: The Work to be done under this Contract consists of the demolition and site restoration of approximately 12 acres, including but not limited to 2 buildings of approximately 14,340 SF and 17,992 SF, a 5,255 SF concrete basin, 7.3 acres of pavement, and associated site facilities, and the installation and connection of a new electrical feed to the existing billboard on the far eastern portion of the site as shown and specified in Contract Documents entitled Mayo Island Improvements - Demolition. B. The Work includes: 1. Furnishing of all labor, material, superintendence, plant, power, light, heat, fuel, water, tools, appliances, equipment, supplies, services and other means of construction necessary or proper for performing and completing the Work. 2. Sole responsibility for adequacy of plant and equipment. 3. Maintaining the Work area and site in a clean and acceptable manner. 4. Maintaining existing facilities in service at all times except where specifically provided for otherwise herein. 5. Protection of finished and unfinished Work. 6. Repair and restoration of Work damaged during construction. 7. Furnishing as necessary proper equipment and machinery, of a sufficient capacity, to facilitate the Work and to handle all emergencies normally encountered in Work of this character. 8. Furnishing, installing, and protecting all necessary guides, track rails, bearing plates, anchor and attachment bolts, and all other appurtenances needed for the installation of the devices included in the equipment specified. Make anchor bolts of appropriate size, strength and material for the purpose intended. Furnish substantial templates and shop drawings for installation.
