As of April 08, 2026, the project was awarded to Richard E. Pierson Construction, with an awarded amount of $1,019,446.60. The work consists of the Gloucester County Two Bridge Rehabilitation Project, located in the Borough of Newfield and the Township of South Harrison in Gloucester County. The principal items of work include approximately: HMA Milling (3" or less) for 500 SY, Hot Mix Asphalt 12.5ME Surface Course for 60 tons, Nonvegetative Surface Hot Mix Asphalt for 400 SY, 9" x 18" Concrete Vertical Curb for 25 LF, Pumped Grout Bags for 6 CY, Rip Rap Slope Protection (24" Thick, d50=12") for 150 SY, Rip Rap Channel Protection (24" Thick, d50=12") for 80 SY, Beam Guide Rail for 350 LF, Tangent Guide Rail Terminal for 3 units, Beam Guide Rail Anchorage for 1 unit, Approach Guide Rail Transitions for 4 units, Pressure Injection (Concrete Cracks) for 570 LF, Concrete Repairs (Type 'D') for 600 SF, Parging and Painting of Parapet Walls (all sides) for 200 LF, Epoxy Waterproofing for 110 SY, and Concrete Bridge Parapet (HPC) for 95 LF. Bids must include a proposal bond (10% of total bid, not exceeding $20,000), certificate (Consent of Surety) from a Surety Company for performance and payment bonds, a Non-Collusion Affidavit, a completed Public Disclosure Information Sheet (listing stockholders/partners with 10% or more ownership), Wage and Hour Compliance Acknowledgment, Plan and Equipment Questionnaire, Business Registration Certificate (including all subcontractors), and the bid must be signed in ink by an authorized company representative. Bids should be submitted in a sealed envelope, or if mailed, placed within an outer mailing envelope and received by the Office of the County Purchasing Agent prior to the bid opening time. The County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive any irregularities, and to award the contract to the proposal best suited to its requirements. Compliance with anti-discrimination laws and prevailing wage requirements is mandatory. If mailed, the sealed bid envelop must be within an outer mailing envelope, and be received at the Office of the County Purchasing Agent prior to the hour named. The Purchasing Agent or The Board of County Commissioners, reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive any irregularities and to award the contract to the bidder whose proposal is best suited to the County's requirements. Any bid obviously unbalanced may be rejected.
