The scope of work consists generally of the replacement of the three existing bar screens and the addition of washer compactors, as well as the installation of a motor-operated gate at the entrance of the Walnut Creek Lift Station. Instructions to bidders include examining the bidding documents at specified locations or obtaining them from the Engineer. Requests for bidding documents must supply company name, contact person, street address, phone number, email address, North Carolina contractor's license with limitation and classification, and indicate if the firm will be a prime bidder, supplier, or sub-contractor. Bidders are required to show evidence of appropriate licensing as required by North Carolina law. Bid security in the amount of five percent of the bid must accompany each bid and will be subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders. The City of Raleigh encourages certified Minority and Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) businesses to participate, with a goal to contract or sub-contract fifteen percent of the contract amount to certified MWBEs on applicable construction projects. The prime contractor must identify participation of MWBE businesses in the bid and how that participation will be achieved.
