Site work for a water / sewer project in Renton, Washington. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The work consists of replacing approximately 5,720 lineal feet of existing 4-inch, 6-inch, and 8-inch asbestos cement (AC) water main with 4-inch, 8-inch, and 12-inch ductile iron (DI) water main; replacement of fire hydrants, valves, blow offs, meter boxes, water service lines from the new water main to the meter; asphalt concrete patch and overlay; cement concrete sidewalk, driveway, and curb and gutter repair; and surface restoration. The existing water mains will be abandoned in place after being filled with controlled density fill (CDF), and the existing roadway will have a half-width grind and overlay performed where the new DI main has been installed. Bidders are instructed to obtain plans, specifications, and addenda online and are encouraged to register to receive notifications of addenda. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security equal to not less than 5% of the bid. The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids or waive informalities. No bidder may withdraw their bid for a period of 30 days after the bid opening. Mandatory 15% apprentice labor hours of the total labor hours are required. All work performed will be subject to state prevailing wage rates. Contractors must be licensed in the State of Washington.
