Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Naknek, Alaska. Conceptual plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
Replacing the Eskimo Creek and unnamed creek culverts in the King Salmon-Naknek area on the Alaska Peninsula were rated high priorities by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game due to concerns for juvenile fish passage. The replacement of the Eskimo Creek culvert would ensure improved passage for two anadromous fish species to at least 5 miles of quality upstream anadromous habitat. Replacing the unnamed creek culvert would provide fish passage to 1.4 miles of additional habitat and 2 ponds. As of February 25, 2026, this project is included in the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities FY 2024-2027 STIP. Information regarding a design firm and the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed. A firm construction timeline has not been released. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
