Market research is being conducted to support a full repower of a 36-foot Arctic Landing Craft, including the procurement and delivery of twin Volvo Penta D4 270 HP main propulsion diesel engines, DPI transmissions with a 1.85:1 ratio, Electronic Vessel Control (EVC) kits, and all associated wiring, cooling systems, and mounting hardware required to provide a complete and fully compatible propulsion system. All components must be new and sourced from the original equipment manufacturer or an authorized distributor, and must include all ancillary parts necessary for proper installation and operation in accordance with OEM requirements. The effort also seeks industry feedback on the clarity and accuracy of specifications, validation of part numbers, identification of any obsolete or discrepant items, and confirmation that the system configuration is complete for operational use. Vendors are expected to assess delivery feasibility based on current supply chain conditions, confirm capability as authorized Volvo Penta distributors capable of providing full manufacturer warranties, and identify any challenges related to pricing, logistics, or shipping to Alaska, as well as provide recommendations to improve the technical requirements and overall acquisition strategy.
