The project is to rehabilitate the expansion joints and control joints on the concrete structure that makes up the "Dog Bone" area of the Aeration Tank #3. There is a total of 162 linear feet of joints that require rehabilitation. The work will take place inside and outside of an open top concrete tank structure that is 18 feet deep. The project will utilize two types of joint sealing systems, both are Sika Brand: 1) Sikadur Combiflex SG System High Performance Joint and Crack Waterproofing System, and 2) Sika 2C Flexible Joint Sealant/429 Primer/Foam Backer Rod. The contractor must provide proof of experience with these types of joint sealing systems. The work includes, but is not limited to, removal of existing joint materials, pressure washing, scarifying concrete surfaces, concrete patching, preparation of substrate, and installation of new joint materials. All labor, tools, equipment, and materials for the project are to be provided by the contractor. All work is to be performed in accordance with project specifications, scope of work, and project drawings. Bidders must submit sealed proposals and provide bid security in the amount of ten percent of the total bid amount, which can be in the form of a certified check, bank draft, U.S. Government Bond at par value, or a Bid Bond using the form provided. The Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority reserves the right to reject or accept any or all bids and to waive any informalities, defects, or irregularities. The contractor will have ten days to complete the entire project after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Every request for such an interpretation shall be made in writing to Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority (WVSA). Any inquiry received five (5) or more days before the date fixed for opening of bids will be given consideration.
