Unit price bids are invited for furnishing materials, equipment, labor, and incidentals necessary to effect certain replacement of existing drainage culverts and/or structures and construction of new to improve the drainage infrastructure. Minority and women’s business enterprises are solicited to bid as prime contractors and are encouraged to seek subcontracting opportunities as well as equipment, material, and supply needs. All bidders must make efforts to use small and minority-owned businesses and women business enterprises. A certified check or bank draft payable to the order of City of Pass Christian, Mississippi, negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value), or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety licensed under the laws of the State of Mississippi, in the amount of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00), must be submitted with each bid. Bidders must indicate their Certificate of Responsibility Number on the outside of the sealed proposal as required by Mississippi Law, and must possess a current commercial contractor’s license with the correct classification. The City of Pass Christian reserves the right to consider factors such as skill, business judgment, experience, facilities, previous conduct under other contracts, quality of previous work, pecuniary ability, honesty, and integrity in determining the lowest and best bid. The City also reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities. Non-resident bidders must attach a copy of their resident state’s current laws regarding treatment of non-resident contractors.
