The City of Miles seeks sealed bids from licensed asbestos contractors for the demolition and disposal of a fire-damaged structure at 332 Ferry Road (Parcel No. 842036227020000). The project involves full asbestos abatement, demolition, debris removal, and site restoration in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Tasks include proper handling and disposal of asbestos materials at an approved facility, removal of foundations and debris, site grading, seeding, and restoration, while keeping sidewalks and the driveway intact. Contractors must be licensed in Iowa for asbestos removal and comply with EPA, Iowa DNR, and OSHA requirements. Work must be completed within a month. Bidders must provide certificates of insurance for general liability ($1,000,000 per occurrence), workers’ compensation (statutory limits), and automobile liability ($1,000,000 combined single limit). A mandatory site visit is required prior to submitting a bid. Complete bid documents can be obtained from Miles City Hall or by contacting the city to request documents by email. Sealed bids must be submitted to City Hall by the stated deadline. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to award the contract in the best interest of the City.
