Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Decatur, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and 5,000-square-foot sidewalk / parking lot.
As of April 07, 2026, the project was awarded to Dunn Company, A Division of Tyrolt, Inc., with an awarded amount of $3,096,023.78. The work includes the placement of approximately 5,200 tons of Hot-Mix Asphalt on various streets in the City of Decatur. Additional tasks involve about 630 feet of curb and gutter, 5,000 square feet of sidewalk, 1,140 square yards of Class B patching, 4,100 square yards of Class D patching, 19,000 square yards of Bituminous Surface Treatment, and 28,400 lineal feet of thermoplastic pavement marking. Utility adjustments, water service replacements, traffic control, landscaping, and other related work items are also included. Instructions to Bidders: Plans, specifications, and proposal forms may be obtained from Decatur Blue Print, Inc. Payment is required for these documents and no refund will be given. All proposals must include a bank draft, cashier's check, certified check, or bid bond for ten percent of the bid, made payable to the Treasurer, Decatur, Illinois. The contractor and any subcontractor must have a written Substance Abuse Prevention Program or a relevant collective bargaining agreement before beginning work. The contractor must pay prevailing wages for Macon County. There are minority participation goals: 10% of the contract should involve minority business enterprises (by subcontracting or purchase of goods/materials), and 18% of total hours worked should be performed by minority workers. Evidence of compliance or documentation of good faith efforts to meet these goals must be submitted. The City of Decatur reserves the right to accept, renegotiate, or reject any or all proposals and may waive variances from the requirements if enough information is provided to determine the bid price. The Completion Date for this project is November 30, 2026. Question Deadline 03/13/2026 No interpretation of the meaning of the plans, specifications or other pre-bid documents will be made to any Bidder orally. Every request for such interpretation should be in writing emailed to capitalprojects@decaturil.gov and to be given consideration must be received at least five (5) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids.
