The work consists of a comprehensive rehabilitation of intake service gate stems following prior successful repairs to other gate stems at the facility. After a previous failure involving the water packing gland on Service Gate Stem No. 1, repair services were performed that included replacement of packing material, hydraulic hoist stem scoring repair, re-chroming, installation of a new wiper seal, and correction of a hoist brake leak, with additional repairs completed on Gate Stems No. 3 and No. 4 through contract modification. Based on the successful completion of those efforts, similar rehabilitation services are required to ensure the continued safe and reliable operation of the intake service gates. The contract includes rehabilitation of Service Gate Stem No. 2 as the base requirement and Service Gate Stem No. 5 as an option. Work will be performed after disassembly of each hydraulic cylinder and will be executed in accordance with the Performance Work Statement and Attachment A (Annotated As Built). The scope encompasses all labor, materials, equipment, and technical services necessary to complete the required repairs and restoration activities as defined in the contract documents.
