Demolition, site work and new construction of an industrial development in Sunnyvale, California. Completed plans call for the demolition of a industrial development.
The City of Sunnyvale is seeking bids from licensed Concrete Construction Firms to provide construction services for Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) and Curbside processing equipment and infrastructure foundation at Sunnyvale Material Recovery Transfer Station (SMaRT Station), 301 Carl Road, Sunnyvale, California 94089. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary to complete selective demolition and construction of new reinforced concrete foundations and associated structural work to support the NextGen materials processing equipment retrofit at the City of Sunnyvale SMaRT Station. Work shall be performed in accordance with the structural drawings prepared by J.R. Miller & Associates, the technical specifications, and applicable 2022 California Building Code requirements. The project includes selective demolition of existing concrete slabs, pits, walls, pedestals, embedded steel, and portions of foundations where required to accommodate new equipment. The Contractor shall provide saw cutting, removal, disposal, temporary shoring, dewatering, and protection of all existing structural elements, including but not limited to foundations, pits, and utilities designated to remain. All work is to be completed within 210 calendar days from the date specified in the Notice to Proceed. Bidder shall submit bid security with the bid in an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount (Base Bid plus Alternates, if any) and in the form of a certified check, cashiers check, or surety bond issued by an admitted surety insurer authorized to conduct business in the State of California. The successful bidder shall furnish performance and payment (labor and materials) bonds, each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract price (Base Bid plus Alternates, if any) and issued by an admitted surety insurer authorized to operate in the State of California. Contractor guarantees all construction performed on this project, as well as all material and equipment incorporated therein.
