The HVAC units are aging and maintenance costs are rising. Given that the flat roof will need to be replaced in 2028 or soon after it would be wise to have the HVAC replacement completed prior to the roof project. The attached information was provided by Andrew Mouradian from New England Energy Controls, Inc. Part of the estimate is for three air handler units ($45,000) which do not need to be replaced in the near future so I'm subtracting $45,000 from the totals. I'm submitting everything else as a single total because there should be some savings by doing a single large project. However, the project can be broken up if necessary. For example we could replace the largest unit (RTU #1 ) one year and the other smaller units along with the BMS system (computer controls) at a later date. For both this and the flat roof request I entered very approximate dates. As of February 27, 2026, this project is included in the City's 2026 - 2031 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Further information regarding a design firm has not yet been established. Funding is allotted for FY 2027. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
