The Work consists of the removal and disposal of railway ties for the period specified, with the option of four mutually agreed upon one-year extensions. The major components include removal and disposal of approximately 1,250 railway ties from each of the Hadashville and Ross locations in the first year, with removal and disposal anticipated to occur once per year. The Work is to be performed on an 'as required' basis as authorized by the Contract Administrator and/or Users, and the City has no obligation to purchase any quantity beyond its operational requirements. The City reserves the right to alter the type or quantity of work or to terminate the contract with thirty days written notice. Bidders are advised that extensions may not be exercised in future if the City participates in collaborative procurement initiatives with other levels of government.
