Stream Restoration and Infrastructure Protection in West Fairmount Park. The work of this Contract includes all work necessary to produce complete and fully usable stream restoration, and infrastructure protection project as shown and described in the Contract Documents. In general, the work includes the acquisition and placement of natural materials for the construction of streambank and streambed restoration features. These features are intended to prevent erosion, enhance aquatic habitat, and establish a natural stream channel suitable for current and future streamflow regimes. These structures can also provide protection to new and existing sanitary sewer and water conveyance infrastructure to extend their usable life and reduce the risk of pollution due to pipe breakage. Work will also include the planting of native trees, shrubs, and grasses to restore the site following construction disturbance and promote a healthy plant community.
