The project consists of yearly maintenance of the City's generator, including engine maintenance and electrical transfer switch testing. Each proposal must include the name of every interested person or firm and be accompanied by a bid bond, bank cashier's check, bank draft, or certified check for at least five percent of the bid amount. A surety bond for the full amount of the award is required. The contractor shall have a minimum of five years' experience in such maintenance and support. Proposals must be submitted on a form provided by the City and enclosed in a separate sealed envelope endorsed with the project title. The bid may not be withdrawn for 45 days from the opening or will be subject to forfeiture of the 5% bid bond. The work is subject to the Prevailing Wage Act, requiring payment of prevailing wages and submission of monthly certified payrolls. The Illinois Substance Abuse Prevention on Public Works Project Act also applies.
