Description

Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Manhattan, Kansas. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

The City of Manhattan, Kansas, receives an annual entitlement of CDBG funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). A public infrastructure project has been identified within a low- or moderate-income area of the community at the intersection of 5th Street and Leavenworth Street. The 5th & Leavenworth project will construct a new waterline to support a fire suppression system in a public housing building, enhance pedestrian safety at the intersection, and incorporate a new public transit bus stop. This project is being funded in part by Federal Transit Administration 5307 funds.
