As of April 30, 2026, the project was awarded to Vance Brothers, LLC, with an awarded amount of $425,133.19. Sealed bids are invited for the 2026 Bituminous Chip Sealing project for Riley County, Kansas. The principal items of work include: Alternate #1: 2146 tons of Aggregate 1 and 395 tons of emulsified asphalt (as specified in the Materials section); Alternate #2: 2575 tons of Aggregate 2 and 395 tons of emulsified asphalt (as specified in the Materials section). The construction method requires the delivery and application of CRS-1HP emulsified asphalt and specified chip aggregate at designated locations. Bid forms, specifications, and contract documents are available at the Riley County Public Works office and may be inspected at the Office of the County Clerk. All bidders must be on the plan holders list to be eligible. Bids may not be withdrawn for 30 days after opening. Security requirements, working days, proposed start date, and bid amount will be considered in the award. The Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities, and accept the bid in the best interest of Riley County.
