Site work and new construction of a medical facility in Montgomery, Alabama. Completed plans call for the construction of a 14,195-square-foot, one-story above grade medical facility.
Construction of an approximately 14,195 square foot single story medical facility in Montgomery, Alabama. The project includes site work, utilities, building construction, for administrative and autopsy spaces. Systems include but are not limited to civil, landscape, structural, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, fire alarm, and fire sprinkler. The estimated construction budget for this project is $7,000,000. Prime contractor bidders interested in submitting a proposal must apply for pre-qualification and must be licensed under the Provision of Title 34, Chapter 8, and Code of Alabama, 1975. A copy of current Alabama Contractors license is to be included in pre-qualification submittal. Only prime contractor bidders who have completed the pre-qualification process and that have been approved will be eligible to submit a bid or perform work for the project. Pre-qualification Requirements Information Package may be obtained from the Architect upon letterhead request. The pre-qualification procedure is intended to identify responsible and competent prime contractor bidders relative to the requirements of the project. Each prospective prime contractor bidder will be notified of the results of the pre-qualification process. The Owner reserves the right to waive technical errors in applications, or abandon the pre-qualification process, should the interests of the Owner appear to be promoted thereby. Bid documents may be obtained from the Architect by pre-qualified bidders upon deposit. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in an amount not less than five percent of the amount of the bid, but not more than $10,000. Performance and Statutory Labor and Material Payment Bonds will be required at contract signing. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the Architect and may not be withdrawn for ninety days after bid receipt. The Owner reserves the right to reject bids in the Owner's best interest, and to revoke pre-qualification of any bidder in accordance with applicable state law. Bidders for fire alarm work must include evidence of licensure with their bid by including a valid State Fire Marshal's permit. Pre-qualification requirements: Prime contractor bidders must apply for pre-qualification, provide a copy of a current Alabama Contractors license, and only those who have completed and been approved through the pre-qualification process are eligible to submit a bid or perform work. The Pre-qualification Requirements Information Package is available upon letterhead request from the Architect. The procedure aims to identify responsible and competent bidders for the project. Only documented and approved bidders may submit bids. Pre-qualification submittals will be received by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences Owner's Representative/Project Manager, Angelo Della Manna on behalf of Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences until 4:00 PM Central Time, on Monday March 23, 2026. The original and two (2) flash drives with duplicates of submittals are required for pre-qualification approval The mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. Central Time at the project site, located at 8160 Aum Drive, Montgomery, Alabama 35117.
