The Project is expected to include an approximately 13,750 square foot, single-story addition to an existing elementary school. The program of spaces is anticipated to include 8- PreK-2nd grade classrooms and associated support spaces. Additional components of the project will include: storm shelter, parking lot detention, selective demolition to tie the addition into the existing building, and a new early childhood playground. Des Moines Public Schools will be publishing a request for statements of qualifications for Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) services to provide Pre-construction and Construction services for the Studebaker Elementary School Classroom Addition project, located at 300 E County Line Road, Des Moines, Iowa. The selected firm will enter into a Guaranteed Maximum Price Contract. The CMAR will be chosen using a two-step process: (1) Request for Qualifications, and (2) Request for Proposals. Selection criteria include firm information, safety record, current capacity to perform, and compliance with Iowa and federal laws. Qualified respondents will be asked to submit proposed fees in the proposal stage. The firm submitting the proposal offering the best value based on the selection criteria and evaluation ranking will be selected.
