Site work and paving for a road / highway in Closter, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The project is awarded to LaForza Construction, LLC in the amount of $164,950.05 The work to be performed under this contract includes the milling and resurfacing of Walker Avenue from Alpine Drive to Piermont Road. Contract work also includes spot curb improvements, ADA curb ramp reconstruction, and ancillary drainage improvements. Principal items of work in the project include: 5,465 S.Y. HMA Milling, 3" or Less; 740 TON Hot Mix Asphalt 9.5M64 Surface Course; 485 L.F. 9" x 18" Concrete Vertical Curb. The work contemplated under this Contract shall be completed within 60 calendar days of notice to proceed. Each bid must be made upon the prescribed forms, furnished with the Contract Drawings and Specifications, including the non-collusion affidavit and ownership statement compliance form and must be accompanied by a Consent of Surety and a certified check, cashier's check, or Bid Bond of not less than ten percent of the amount bid and not to exceed $20,000.00. Checks and Bonds shall be made payable to the Owner and will be held as a Guarantee that in the event the Bid is accepted and a Contract awarded, the Contract shall be duly executed and its performance properly secured. The successful bidder shall furnish a performance and payment bond in the amount of 100 percent of the accepted bid amount as security for the faithful performance and payment of the Contract. The successful bidder must also furnish the policies or Certificates of Insurance required by the Contract. In default thereof, checks and the amount represented thereby will be forfeited to the Owner as liquidated damages. Bids must be accompanied, in the case of corporations not chartered in New Jersey, by proper certificate that such corporation is authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27 regarding equal employment opportunity, as amended. All corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies must comply with N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2, regarding disclosure of partners and stockholders. Each bid must be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the bidder, addressed to the Owner and labeled for the Improvements to Walker Avenue. The successful bidder will be required to comply with all provisions of prevailing wage rates as determined by the New Jersey Department of Labor. Unless otherwise permitted by N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23.3, all bids shall be irrevocable, not subject to withdrawal and shall stand available for a period of sixty days in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:11-24. The Owner and Bidder may agree to hold bids for consideration for a longer period of time. The Owner reserves the right to reject bids, to waive minor informalities or non-material exceptions in the bids received and to accept the bid from the lowest responsible bidder.
