Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Round Lake Beach, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
This project includes the installation of storm sewer, pavement patching, curb replacement, and earth restoration. Description of Work: The work for which proposals are requested is located at 2007 Civic Center Way and will generally consist of, but shall not be limited to, the following major work items: Installation of storm sewer, pavement patching, curb replacement and earth restoration. Bidders are required to complete two bid schedules (a base bid and an alternate bid), and the Village may award any combination of these schedules. All work is subject to the wage provisions of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act and the Illinois Substance Abuse Prevention on Public Works Projects Act. Bid security in the amount of ten percent of the total bid amount must accompany the bid, and pre-qualification with the Illinois Department of Transportation is required. The Village reserves the right to reject any and all bids and bidders and to waive all technicalities. This project includes two bid schedules, one base bid and one alternate bid; all bidder's shall complete both schedules. The Village reserves the right to award any combination of the bid schedules. Factors other than price which will be considered in awarding or rejecting bids shall include the results of reference contacts, and the quality of the bidder's performance on prior Village projects, if any, in the judgment of the Village Board and Village staff. All bids submit ted shall be valid for a period of one hundred twenty (120) days. If any Bidder is in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of the plans, specifications or other Contract Documents, they shall request an interpretation from the Project Engineer prior to bidding. The Project Engineer shall give a written interpretation of the matter in question by issuing an "Addendum" and sending same to each person receiving a set of Contract Documents. Only a written interpretation shall be binding and no Bidder shall rely upon any verbal interpretation or correction given by any other method.
