Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Anchorage, Alaska. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility; for site work for a military facility; and water / sewer project.
Removal of the existing concrete trail along the Portage Lake lakefront and construction of a new trail connecting the Trail of Blue Ice to the Begich Boggs Visitor Center, including demolition, earthwork, clearing and grubbing, installation of retaining walls, drainage features, trail switchbacks, trail surfacing, small concrete structures, erosion control measures, and re-seeding. Two existing outhouses will be decommissioned, and one new double-vault outhouse will be constructed at a new location. Optional work includes building a scenic outlook platform with interpretive panels at the lakefront and constructing an additional trail linking the beach access near the building to the parking lot. The project also encompasses outhouse installation, site restoration, and all related construction activities required to support the new trail system and amenities.
