The work will include: pressure filter media removal, disposal, and replacement; ion exchange resin removal, disposal, and replacement; surface preparation and recoating of the pressure filter and ion exchange vessels; inspection and repairs of the existing iron oxidation system; iron oxidation system installation; brine distribution header and lateral replacement; air backwash grid header and lateral replacement; air backwash blower replacement; miscellaneous piping and valve replacement; and brine tank modifications. Proposals must be submitted on forms provided with the specifications. Each proposal must include a bid bond from a company authorized to do business in Wisconsin in the amount of five percent (5%) of the proposal. If submitting electronically, the original bid bond must be delivered within 72 hours of bid opening. Bidders are expected to comply with federal Davis-Bacon Act wage rates and other federal and state labor provisions. All bidders must undertake specified affirmative efforts to solicit bids from MBEs, DBEs, and WBEs and document these contacts. The project is subject to American Iron and Steel requirements, and proposals cannot be withdrawn for 45 days after opening. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and waive informalities.
